Signs your site needs SEO now
Your site needs SEO when traffic has gone flat, competitors with weaker offers rank above you, or AI tools describe your market without naming you. Any one of these means buyers are searching for what you sell and finding someone else first.
- Traffic has flatlined. Search Console shows impressions creeping up while clicks stay stuck. People see your listing and pick another one.
- A weaker rival sits above you. When a competitor with a thinner offer outranks you for your own service, their page usually matches the search better or carries more trust.
- AI tools leave you out. Ask ChatGPT or Perplexity for the best option in your category. If your name never comes up, you're missing from a conversation many buyers now start there.
- New pages go nowhere. Pages from months ago still aren't indexed.
Each month a rival holds the spot, they collect the reviews and links that make them harder to pass.
How we work: the Climb framework
Every SEO engagement at UppearNow runs on four stages: Fix, Match, Earn and Cite. We work them in that order because each one makes the next pay off. A link to a page Google can't index is wasted.
- Fix. Google has to crawl, render and index every page that matters. We clear those blockers first, then tune speed to Google's Core Web Vitals targets: LCP within 2.5 seconds, INP of 200 milliseconds or less, CLS of 0.1 or less.
- Match. One page, one search intent. Buyers get service pages, researchers get guides.
- Earn. Links, reviews and mentions from real sites tell Google you're the safer pick. We earn them with content editors want to cite.
- Cite. Key pages get short, sourced answers near the top that a person or an AI model can lift whole. Google says a page only needs to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet to appear in AI Overviews, so strong SEO is the way in.

Our SEO services come in six parts, and each one solves a different reason a site fails to rank. Most sites gain fastest from two or three of them. If you can only fund one, start with the audit.
| Service | Best for | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Technical SEO Audit | Sites with indexing, speed or migration trouble | A ranked fix list plus developer tickets |
| On-Page SEO | Pages ranking in positions 11 to 20 | New titles, headings, copy and internal links |
| Local SEO | Clinics, law firms, trades, multi-location brands | A tuned Google Business Profile, reviews, local pages |
| Ecommerce SEO | Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce stores | Stronger category pages, cleaner filter URLs |
| International SEO | Brands selling across countries or languages | The right structure, working hreflang, local content |
| Keyword Research | New sites and new product lines | A keyword map tied to pages, intent and value |
Industries we serve
We plan around how buyers search in each of these fields:
- Ecommerce: category and product pages that turn browsing into orders
- Software: comparison pages for buyers who research for weeks
- Healthcare: expert-reviewed pages for Google's higher health bar
- Legal: map pack spots and practice-area pages
- Finance: explainers where accuracy decides who ranks
- Property: city and neighborhood pages with local reviews
- Education: program pages that answer students and parents
What we report, and how to choose
Each month you get a live dashboard and a call built around organic leads, sales and revenue, with rankings, Search Console clicks and your mentions in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity shown beside them. We put revenue first because rankings alone can mislead: Ahrefs found an AI Overview correlates with a 58% lower click-through rate for the top result.
Six questions to ask any SEO company
Google's own guidance says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, so treat that promise as a red flag. Then ask these, us included:
- What happens in the first 30 days? Good answers name tasks with numbers.
- Where do your links come from? Paid links that pass ranking credit break Google's spam policies.
- Who works on my account? Ask whether work goes to subcontractors.
- Which numbers will you report? Leads and revenue belong next to rankings.
- Do you follow Google Search Essentials? Google itself suggests asking this one.
- How do you track AI search? Ask how they measure your mentions in AI answers.
What SEO services cost
Most SEO providers charge a monthly retainer, and the right amount depends on your site size and how far ahead your competitors are. In Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers, $501 to $1,000 a month was the most common retainer, charged by 20.4% of them.

Questions, answered.
Ask us directlyWhat are SEO services?
SEO services are the work that helps your website rank in Google's unpaid results and get cited in AI answers. They cover technical fixes, keyword research, on-page changes, content and link building, run as one plan and judged by the leads and sales search brings in.
How much do SEO services typically cost?
Most SEO is billed monthly. In Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers, $501 to $1,000 a month was the most common retainer. Bigger sites, tougher markets and heavier content needs raise the price, while one-off audits are usually quoted as a separate project.
Is SEO dead now with AI?
No. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on pages that are indexed and eligible to appear in search, with no extra requirements. What has changed is the payoff for clarity. Pages with direct, sourced answers give themselves a better shot at both the click and the citation.
How long does SEO take to work?
Most sites see early movement within three months, such as fixed pages getting indexed and rankings shifting on easier terms. Bigger gains in leads and revenue usually take six to twelve months, depending on your competition and how quickly changes go live.
What is the 80/20 rule for SEO?
The 80/20 rule says a small share of your pages and keywords drives most of your results. In practice, about a fifth of the work brings most of the gains, so we fix pages already near page one, and pages tied to revenue, before writing anything new.
Can you guarantee first-page rankings?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google's own guidance states that nobody can guarantee a #1 ranking. We commit to a clear plan, steady monthly work and honest reports that show what moved, what didn't and what we'll try next.
Can SEO help us show up in ChatGPT and AI Overviews?
Yes. Google picks AI Overview sources from pages that are indexed and eligible to show with a snippet, so solid SEO comes first. ChatGPT and Perplexity favor clear, quotable pages and brands mentioned on trusted sites. We track your mentions across all three.
